This is Manji, he's pretty much a total badass.
He's from a manga/anime Blade of the Immortal.
Basically, Manji can't die of his wounds, he's lost limbs, been impaled and cut up so much that you could run rivers red with his blood, with ease. he's also known as Manji of a Hundred Kills, or something to that effect. That's because he's caused the deaths of over a hundred samurai and as a form of redemption for these deeds he's decided to kill over a thousand evil men.
He teams up with a girl that's had her family massacred etc, etc. If you want to know more, watch the series, it's all on Youtube.
I won't lie, the English dub is pretty horrific and lessens most of the characters to a degree but watching Manji fight is always a pleasure (if you can excuse some of the terrible one-liners and dialogue.)
One of the best things about the anime is its opening theme.
So, yeah, this anime is definitely not for those with weak stomachs and can get more than gruesome but it was enjoyable for the most part.
If I had to rate it, probably 3 or 3 and a half stars. Hopefully you'll enjoy it!
